Are magicMD doctors certified?

Yes! All of our doctors are board-certified internal medicine, state-certified family medicine or pediatricians, are licensed in the state of Florida and reside in the US. We chose to work with them because of their specialties in treating common travelers’ illnesses. You’ll be able to see a photo of your doctor along with their credentials before your visit.

Does magicMD accept insurance?

We don’t bill your insurance directly, but we provide you with documentation to submit to your policy for reimbursement if desired. Since we see travelers from all around the world, this helps keep your cost low–less than the typical co-pay and hundreds less than an emergency room or urgent care visit.

What makes magicMD different?

Unlike national telemedicine groups, magicMD physicians are hand-picked local specialists who treat travelers every day. If you need follow-up care, the same doctor is often available to see you again in person. We also feature prescription and supply delivery directly to your resort or theme park – something urgent care centers or national groups can’t do. magicMD offers quality concierge-level service at an affordable price with unparalleled convenience so you can get back to what you enjoy most.

What can’t be treated?

If you are experiencing a true emergency, dial 911 and seek help immediately. magicMD does not treat life-threatening conditions. In addition, orthopedic injuries such as major strains/sprains or broken bones must be seen in-person at a local urgent care or emergency center. Your doctor will assess your condition and if a referral to a local center is suggested, the information will be provided.

Does magicMD offer translation services?

Yes. Our physicians often speak several languages – but professional video translation services will soon be available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Mandarin, Japanese and more.

What are the technical requirements for using magicMD?

magicMD can be accessed from nearly any device with a camera and microphone. The service is supported on all browsers and operating systems including iOS, Android and Microsoft. While a good WiFi connection is best, you can still connect with 4G LTE data service. A system test will be performed prior to connecting with a doctor to ensure your device and connection meet minimum requirements.
